Glowing Hearts
I’ve heard of CHUCK ROCK before, but CHUCK LOG?
You can purchase this issue now if you would like! Note: This page has been edited to fix a continuity error regarding a future chapter. I haven’t added it to the gumroad version yet, as I’m trying to compile the[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
You can purchase this issue now if you would like! Check earlier issues for specific clarification on the color of the living room, if desired.
You can purchase this issue now if you would like! Death trap? Lady, a trap only works if people WANT to go there.
Happy new year, from all of us (just me) at The Pilotside Chronicle. You can purchase this issue now if you would like!
Now that the new year is out of the way, you can start planning on how you’re going to celebrate my birthday next Friday. You can purchase this issue now if you would like!
There’s only two weeks worth of updates of this issue left and let me tell you something about Seasonal Depression: If you have the choice of being born with it, say “no.” I have approximately 0 pages of this done,[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The problem with doing your work in advance like this is that when you start posting it you’re like “THIS IS THE BEST WORK I’VE EVER DONE” and by the time you’re almost finished posting it you’re making a mental[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I might be trying something a little different for February. Or I might be able to have issue 4 ready on the 4th of February. But I’ll have something for you!
BEEP BOOP FRIEND ALERT
Continue to the optional 3.5 social media entry Head Directly to Chapter 4 Thank you for reading this issue, and I assume the other ones as well. If you didn’t read issue 1 and 2: was this very confusing? I[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Until I have issue 4 ready, please enjoy this interlude, taking place on a fictional instance of Mastodon, a decentralized social network, that I like more than Twitter for the most part, and also gave me explicit permission to use[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I actually have no clue if this is going to post right so if there’s a little hiccup or broken link in your RSS for a sec I’m sorry!
I’m filling in details with this so I don’t have to explain them in the comic. Now I can just have characters BE there without having to explain things within the narrative proper? It’s kind of a relief.
I unintentionally made the crux of Dexter’s character “death and taxes,” but you are free to treat it as purposeful and laud me as a genius if you feel like it.
I will be posting the first page of issue 4 next week, to mark the 1st anniversary of Glowing Hearts! I’m not… super done with it though.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I started posting my comic! Thank you for reading it, if you have. If you haven’t: Why do you come here and just look at the blog postings?
Full disclosure: I really did start doing the real math for this, but got confused so enjoy this approximation.
I got a sudden freelance thing last week, pushing the comic back a little, but I should be able to keep putting these out this week. ALSO: Sometimes fake social media works better threaded, sometimes it works better as it[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Finally, an explanation as to why my characters don’t spend all day every day in church, as is normal American custom.
Everyone loves that Popeye cartoon right? I think it’s the first one with Wimpy. I haven’t put any serious time into Princess Tomato but I think about it a lot.
You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! As always, I am totally fine with you reading it here for free.
A Glowing Profile
Congratulations, site visitors, you are literally the only people who are able to see this post as it’s meant to be seen. Granted, there’s no real difference in how it is read as a whole, but still! You can purchase[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
That’s right, issue 3 and 4 have consecutive panels. You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! Also, if you have a difficult time parsing some of the artwork because of the color scheme, let me know![…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Feelin’ Cool
I do each step of my comic all the way through, generally speaking. First I do a just writing and rough layout pass, then I do another layout pass, then I do word bubbles, then I do pencils (or another[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Wow, nice hole!
Bringing Up The House
I’ve been waiting to put one of those Archie Sonic introductions into a comic for like five years, and it finally happened. This is how The Secret works. You can purchase this issue now if you would like to!
Getting Squared Up
There’s apparently structural reasons when deciding whether to use cylindrical or squared columns. The text I managed to find on it was kind of dense, and my reaction was the last three panels of this comic. You can purchase this[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The ever-shrinking wardrobe of Shelley Talora
She originally said shirt, but I realized I had drawn her in this shirt for the entire issue and didn’t feel like adding a blood stain to it. So I changed it to pants. Writer’s tip: change it to pants.[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I usually do passage of time at page breaks, so doing it three times in one page was weirdly nerve wracking for me? You can purchase this issue now if you would like to!
You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! Note: the reason Tisl thinks Behavioral Sub-routine is spelled phonetically is because she’s pronouncing it weird.
WWAWM
UPLOAD FRIENDSHIP
You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! Looking at it now, I probably should have made his beard look a little crazier earlier in the comic!
Fetching and Kvetching
This is the only comic on the site to actively feature cursing, so I guess I better go back and add it into the old comics. You can purchase this issue now if you would like to!
A Compelling Legal Case
We’re officially at the point where I should let you know that there is not enough comic left for me to hard pitch you buying the rest of it, but you can if you’d like.

I’ll be honest: I didn’t really intend for Glowing Hearts to mean anything or even come up in dialog. I just thought it evoked the feeling I was going for with my comic.
Dig Me Out
We still have a little wrap-up next week, but for all intents and purposes, issue 4 is done. I hope you enjoyed it! Next month is more social media comics while I work on issues 5, 6 and 7, which[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Continue on to the optional Social Media comics Go directly to Chapter 5 As is customary, even though it shouldn’t be, I made the back cover of this issue before the rest of the issue as the cover, and then[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I’m hard at work at the second… phase? book? of Glowing Hearts. It starts the week after the comic that just finished, and I did a bunch of math to figure out the exact days everything has happened because I[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
You must understand how much it pained me to both realize that Tisl would type “yeah” as “yea” and then to type it that way.
If you’re wondering if, every time I see an anthropomorphic character, I think about how they’d probably have to buy a special shampoo? I do.
These have been useful for elaborating on certain points that would be irritating to make clear in the text of the comic. People don’t really TALK like this, but they do write like this. Shelley would get embarrassed and try[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I imagine that After Effects only takes longer to render things now than it did when I last used it a decade ago. My thoughts go out to the people tasked with making stuff for 8K televisions.
I researched how cement walls are made for the next comic but did not re-watch Ghostbusters for these posts. I don’t know how to put up a cement wall. I’ve seen this movie more than any other.
Usually I don’t talk through Wistare, but I sometimes get hung up on city planning while watching science fiction.
