Yep, once you’re doing fully-shaded art, selecting actual hues isn’t really much more work. I actually find color easier to work in than black-and-white because for color I can just keep a bunch of easily-distinguished reference swatches around rather than having to fiddle with trying to figure out which gray values to use for what.
