There’s only two weeks worth of updates of this issue left and let me tell you something about Seasonal Depression: If you have the choice of being born with it, say “no.” I have approximately 0 pages of this done,[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The problem with doing your work in advance like this is that when you start posting it you’re like “THIS IS THE BEST WORK I’VE EVER DONE” and by the time you’re almost finished posting it you’re making a mental[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I might be trying something a little different for February. Or I might be able to have issue 4 ready on the 4th of February. But I’ll have something for you!
Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I started posting my comic! Thank you for reading it, if you have. If you haven’t: Why do you come here and just look at the blog postings?
You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! As always, I am totally fine with you reading it here for free.
A Glowing Profile
Congratulations, site visitors, you are literally the only people who are able to see this post as it’s meant to be seen. Granted, there’s no real difference in how it is read as a whole, but still! You can purchase[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
That’s right, issue 3 and 4 have consecutive panels. You can purchase this issue now if you would like to! Also, if you have a difficult time parsing some of the artwork because of the color scheme, let me know![…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Feelin’ Cool
I do each step of my comic all the way through, generally speaking. First I do a just writing and rough layout pass, then I do another layout pass, then I do word bubbles, then I do pencils (or another[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Wow, nice hole!
The ever-shrinking wardrobe of Shelley Talora
She originally said shirt, but I realized I had drawn her in this shirt for the entire issue and didn’t feel like adding a blood stain to it. So I changed it to pants. Writer’s tip: change it to pants.[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I usually do passage of time at page breaks, so doing it three times in one page was weirdly nerve wracking for me? You can purchase this issue now if you would like to!
A Compelling Legal Case
We’re officially at the point where I should let you know that there is not enough comic left for me to hard pitch you buying the rest of it, but you can if you’d like.

Dig Me Out
We still have a little wrap-up next week, but for all intents and purposes, issue 4 is done. I hope you enjoyed it! Next month is more social media comics while I work on issues 5, 6 and 7, which[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Continue on to the optional Social Media comics Go directly to Chapter 5 As is customary, even though it shouldn’t be, I made the back cover of this issue before the rest of the issue as the cover, and then[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I don’t have many pages done but I should be able to keep up! Sorry for any future delays if they happen.
Side-Character Adventure Comics
Glowing Hearts, and every comic on this site, is a spin-off of a comic I’m never going to show you that I did almost a decade ago. The story itself wound up being too close to several other watershed comic[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The Pace of Caring
I’ve been trying to make tags for all the characters that have been in this book, but I’ll be honest: Not only did I fudge it a lot, and forget to tag some people, but some characters didn’t actually hadn’t[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I’m still finishing this comic, and desperately trying to keep to my two-s-words per issue, one-f-word per chapter/season, and it’s hard. I say both of those words all the time.

Important Data Collecting Experiments
Because wordpress solidifies it’s permalink almost instantly, enjoy the way I initially misspelled occurrence.
Some Concrete Plans
As far as I can tell, half the pages for the rest of this set of chapters have between five and twelve characters on them, so I think I’m moving to two pages a week until I get reasonably comfortably[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
How many baths are you planning on putting in here?
Full disclosure: the original set-up to this scene felt a little too porny so I had to rewrite it a BUNCH.
Maybe someone will want an audience?
Is this how I feel about pacing? Who knows! (yes) ALSO I just got a new tablet monitor and this is the first page inked with it (the backgrounds were done on the previous one). So the comic may wind[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Party Time… Eventually??? IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT?
Getting Your Bell Rung
Eventually going to hit a page where I have to tag 16 characters, and I’m not looking forward to it.
Leaf it to Tree
Thank you for reading this issue! There won’t be a big break between this and issue 6, just a week or two. I can’t guarantee a February 17th launch, but it is possible/semi-likely.
I did this background before drawing the characters in, so here are some of the details you’re missing:
The dithering looks a little weird because I’ve started processing my images with Aseprite. Once I do a different color scheme it shouldn’t be an issue. So look forward to that in… 25 pages?
Please know that despite making a reference to a work made by Ricky Gervais, this comic does not support him in any way. Thank you for your concern in this trying time.
Door to Yesterday
This isn’t a spread, really, though it should be. I have a vertical version of this page but everything is incredibly bunched up and difficult to read. I try to make my pages most of a complete idea, and sometimes[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I only obscure copyrighted names because it’s hilarious to me, not because I worry about being sued.
The DuMont Special
I am willing to put a lot of work into this comic, but I didn’t want to dig for the unicode symbol for alpha. Sorry.
Sorry if there are mistakes in this one – usually I try to be a week ahead. I had gotten 3 weeks ahead at some point and once again the clock has outsmarted me. It’s all behind the scenes but[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I recently got Spotify premium again so I considered making playlists for the comic, but I have to make a second account for it, because I apparently got my account in the first few months when you had to use[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
A Mellow Lark
Originally I was going to go right into posting the next issue, but I’ve decided I want to have a deeper think about how I want it to look, and also I haven’t compiled the script into something workable yet.[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I haven’t been allowing myself to have a comic putter out the way moments often do, and I did that in this issue. I thought I wouldn’t have to take a break from posting comics here but I am nowhere[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The Dress, Addressed
I think I spelled Addressed right on my first try, a new record. That’s it for this chapter. I thought I was going to be able to launch straight into the next, but I have to write it AND the[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
or having will read it in the future. I’ll be back in a couple weeks to start posting supplementary material.
Writing a comic and passing it off to someone else to draw is an absolutely wild concept to me, because the text in this page was being changed up to the last step before publishing it.
A Matter of Taste
Down the hatch
This might be my first time legit doing an A-plot/B-plot comic and while they’re a little complicated to put together, once they start coming together they do it fast. Let me know if you have a preference for just one-plot[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Initiative Check
There aren’t many times where I’ve had to ask myself if something was too horny-on-main, but my general rule is that as long as there’s a joke attached it’s fine.
Hey Let’s Twist
This and the following page are supposed to be a spread but it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that they were difficult to do. There’s only one really difficult page in the next chapter, but this one had A[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Can I borrow and possibly destroy your phone?
Sometimes I’ll use 3D models to make sure the proportions in my comic are correct and what I’ve learned from this is that foreshortening looks fake, even in real life.
Can’t believe there was an attempted coup comprised entirely of people who prefer Guy Gilchrist “Nancy”
